Testosterone is responsible for maintaining libido and sexual function, and when it is deficient, libido can reduce. When this first begins to happen, men may notice a lack of desire or interest, and after time, all of the sex drive can disappear. Bio-identical testosterone can improve libido and reignite sexual passion.
Imbalanced hormones can cause the hypothalamus, which is responsible for setting the body’s sleep cycles, to become confused and set irregular sleeping patterns. Men can experience trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, waking up multiple times at night, and waking up early in the morning and being unable to fall back asleep. Bio-identical hormones can rectify hormone deficiencies and regulate sleeping patterns.
Increased Muscle Mass
Muscle atrophy can result from a decrease of testosterone, due to the hormone’s role in building muscle. During andropause, most men lose around 12-15 pounds of muscle mass. This is because testosterone helps the red blood cells to produce and build muscle tissue, and when it is deficient, the body cannot adequately build muscle. Bio-identical hormones can restore hormones and increase muscle mass.
Our services can help increase your energy levels and make you feel better.
Extra body fat can begin to accumulate around the middle as a result of hormonal decline. This can occur because decreased muscle mass, burns away less fat and reduces metabolism. When the body’s metabolic processes slow down, the body burns energy more slowly, which can cause the body to accumulate more fat. Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy can help the body burn off this accumulated fat.

Advanced Lipid Testing
Our advanced lipid tests can check for abnormalities in your HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglyceride levels. The test can also help identify genetic disorders and cardiovascular disease risk factors.
This is an advanced lab test that help determine underlying causes of health problems that are not always clearly apparent. Many times, a problem can be identified and treated before it causes vital or permanent damage.
Unfortunately, we are bombarded with information and misinformation from the time we wake up to the moment we fall asleep. What is a healthy diet? What is the best way to lose weight? Should I follow the low-carb, low-fat Subway Diet? Or the Atkins Diet? The list goes on and on.
Most people agree that being overweight or obese will lead to countless medical problems. Although there are many obese people with medical problems, most doctors do not receive adequate nutritional education. “Eat less, Exercise More” is the common answer to our weight loss questions.
The goal of this program, however, is not just to help you lose weight. Anybody can lose weight with exercise and low calorie diets. Our goal is to provide you with the knowledge, the nutritional and behavioral guidance, and the specific tools you need to take control of your own health and ultimately reach and maintain your ideal weight.
Part of our program uses technologies to determine several factors. First, we can establish what type of diet is best suited for an individual to maintain proper weight. Second, adjustments can be made to an individual’s diet to help reduce damage caused by inflammatory factors associated with fats and/or carbohydrates. We are able to see tendencies toward cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and strokes long before they happen.
Healthy Futures’ nutritionists will tailor a nutrition plan in accordance with your health considerations as well as any culinary restrictions due to allergies, lifestyle, and/or religious considerations.
Dexascan and Body Composition Analysis
The DXA whole body composition test, measures your overall body composition and fat data. It also determines (with your exercise or diet program) where on the body you are losing or gaining weight, and whether it is fat or muscle. No other body fat test method or body composition measurement method is able to give detailed fat, muscle, and bone mapping information.
In a consultation with Healthy Futures’ medical staff and only after your health and physical capabilities have been determined, a Healthy Futures exercise consultant will recommend an exercise regimen that is within your ability but will set you on a path towards greater health and well-being.
Testing and Treatment
Advanced lab tests that help determine underlying causes of health problems that are not always clearly apparent. Many times a problem can be identified and treated before it causes vital or permanent damage.
Based upon your initial examination and lab analysis, you may undergo one or more diagnostic examinations including REEVUE, DEXA, AAA, Echocardiogram, Stress Test, Carotid Ultrasound, Thyroid Ultrasound, Abdominal Ultrasound, and Arterial and Venous Ultrasound. This imaging capability will further enable the Healthy Futures team to tailor a treatment regimen to your specific goals and health considerations, and uncover any previously unknown concerns.
Genetic Testing allows us to modify environmental factors like nutrition, vitamins, minerals, and medications to lessen catastrophic events. We can determine which people are most likely to develop dangerous blood clots in their life and treat them effectively. We can also find and treat people who are genetically unable to convert folic acid or B12 into their active forms. When discovered, we can use converted forms of these vitamins to help prevent a variety of diseases.
Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy
Men can greatly improve their health with Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy. While men do not suffer from such a drastic decline of hormones as women, they do experience a more gradual loss of hormones. Starting around age 30, men begin to have a decline in testosterone production, and when a man reaches his mid to late forties or early fifties, he may experience a steep drop in hormonal production. When this occurs, men can begin to notice a series of unwanted changes, such as balding, weight gain, or sexual dysfunction. This dramatic drop in hormones is known as Andropause.
Male hormones are responsible for sexual and reproductive function, metabolic activities, bone density, and emotional health, and when they are not produced in adequate amounts, men may notice they have mood swings that can consist of increased anxiety, depression, anger, or nervousness and that they have put on a ring of body fat around the middle. Workouts may not yield the same results as they used to, and men can notice they have an overall lack of motivation or passion for life. Libido may also decrease, which can have a negative impact on personal relationships, and erectile dysfunction may be another symptom that men experience during this time.
While most men assume these symptoms are all a part of getting older, they are really caused from hormonal deficiencies, which can impact numerous bodily functions. When Andropause sets in and these symptoms occur Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy can successfully reduce many of the effects of hormone decline. Some men report that they feel as good as they did in the 20’s and 30’s due to bio-identical hormone supplementation. Bio-identical hormones can greatly improve health and wellness in men experiencing hormone related issues. Bio-identical hormone replacement can produce some of the following benefits:
Hormones affect brain chemistry, and when they are out of balance, moods such as anger, resentment, irritability, anxiety, or nervousness can occur. Hormones also affect the heart, which can cause mood related heart palpitations and anxiety. Balanced hormones can put an end to mood roller coasters.
Reduction of Erectile Dysfunction
Sexual function is directly related to healthy amounts of testosterone, and when it is deficient, erectile dysfunction can occur. Men may notice that they no longer experience involuntary morning erections, and then, they can become unable to become aroused. Bio-identical hormones may help to reduce instances of erectile dysfunction.

Two of the most common treatment modalities for wrinkles and the aging face include Botox and Dermal fillers. Botox typically treats dynamic wrinkles, or “wrinkles of motion”. These areas are typically around the eyes and above. Treatment with botox typically lasts 3 months.
Fillers are used to treat static wrinkles, volume loss, and folds. They are also used to augment certain facial and body features such as lips and hands. The most common fillers used today utilize a gel like substance which is made up of hyaluronic acid. This is in different concentrations in order to achieve different results, depending on the area/areas being treated. Typically, higher concentrations fillers are used to fill more volume loss and lower percentage fillers are used on lips, fine lines, and around the eyes. Some common areas that are treated are the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, lips, cheek and chin augmentation, and on the hands for volume loss that occurs as we age. Hyaluronic acid fillers look completely natural and are extremely safe as hyaluronic acid is naturally in tissues throughout the body. Fillers typically last anywhere between 6 months to 2 years, depending on the product used, among other factors.
Botox injections can be used for cosmetic purpose but can also be helpful for those with chronic headaches. Sometimes the muscle strain and fatigue from working at computers causes headaches in the upper neck and forehead areas.
Skin Lesion Biopsies and Skin Tag Removals
Skin tags are common in people that have developed insulin resistance or are diabetic. These tags can be bothersome and socially an embarrassment. They can easily and effectively get removed in a simple office procedure.
This is a relatively new process for skin resurfacing. It does not use laser or heat so there is no collateral skin damage. It can be used to soften or alleviate scars and create a much smoother skin surface. It can be used on all skin types. Healing times is less than other modes of therapy and is safely, effectively and near painlessly carried out under topical anesthesia in the office.
